You can totally cut out all the lows on an FZ2 with the EQ, and they're dope and way loud.
I have no idea why you'd want to though. Once them Satanic lows come through....mmmmm. Tasty.
I dial mine in so that the low eq is at about 3:00, and the high is back somewhere around 11:00. Then it goes to a BF.
On my current rig it brings out the bottom end and gives you a taste of the evil highs before they become overwhelming. Like ghosts. Or some shit.
You could certainly dial it to sound super cutting, and it would still get you the definition you need. But that beast is all about the lows for me.

also, if'n yr lookin for Dime toanz, get a RG80 or a Century or something. It's totally where it's at. Also, consider getting an EQ pedal just for added sculpting. With the Elements, you won't really need it, but that's how Dime always got his overall sound. Dude took a 6 band MXR EQ with him wherever he went.
All of this is gospel truth. :thumb:

I have a Randall Cyclone, but I think the distortion is thicker than what I'm looking for. Guess I never tried thinning it out with the built in graphic eq, and that eq is super powerful on that amp. Also have an old Japanese Ibanez graphic eq pedal.
I reckon with some EQing you could definitely get where you need to be.
Those old US made SS amps, like the Randalls and Ampegs definitely had the best SS dirt tones goin on.

theavondon wrote: Also, potentially consider a Dano Fab Tone? It's supposedly a cheap Guvnor clone, and they're really great for roughly $20. Plus, if you hate it, they work pretty well as a doorstop.
You've confused the FabTone for the Daddy-O. The latter is the modified Guvnor. The FabTone is the nasty high gain distortion one, as used by Mogwai(?).

DS-1 has always said "I can't find a good dirt pedal, but this average sounding piece of crap will do" to me. I think Amarok used one and I didn't hate it, and that's about it (and it was the amps and volume that overcame it). I've given plenty of friends crap for using one. As in "Your band would sound pretty kickass without that generic guitar tone you're farting out. Why you using $200 of pickups in a good-to-Gibson-or-Customer guitar and a $1000+ amp-cab with a POS $20 dirtbox between?". I'm a supportive guy.

Ah yeah, okay that makes sense. I've tried both, and also a guvnor, and the daddy-o totally did sound more like the guvnor. Fab tone was still dope though.
