Midi Guitars? zombie thread from hell!!!!!!
Has any ne played either or both a Casio-dg20 and Yamaha EZ-EG [or AG]?
I have given up on the fucking Roland pickups, they track too slow. The bass one is about useless:mad:
I have qualms about both units, the casio being old tect I wonder about tracking.
The Yamaha I worry about it's "teaching" aspects getting in the way of it being a good controler.
Thoughts anyone?

Casio DG-20 gives you FOTC cred.

Got rid of my DG-20 because it's basically a toy and I always worried I'd break it and then I'd have a broken toy.

+1 - my bandmate got one off eBay in really good condition, but even then it felt really flimsy and stiff. That said, the tracking was pretty good. I'd consider getting one if you wanted to do weird guitar-synthy stuff in the studio, but would discourage anyone from playing out with one.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

I love Flight of the Conchords!
Say what you will, but they're really fantastic musicians. They play mad instruments, sing pretty well, and they're hilarious.

This.
I'll edit this post with something useful once I get home from work. I think I might know of something that'll work well for you

To me there is, they are getting better and faster but there is still a small amount of time in the conversion.
------------------------------new thought----------------------------
This whole thing is about me being lazy and not wanting to learn keys. I have to think when I play keys, I don't on most string instruments once I get a handle on what ever tuning it is in so the idea of a controler that functions like a string instrument will help me come up with stuff and not have to stop and think.

This is my fear about the thing

On the other hand me being me I have already given thought to chopping one up and grafting it into a real guitar body, maybe even adding a wooden fo-neck around the existing neck.
