Reverse Delay with Modulation (Timebender?)

Post by Dramatis Persona »

Hello guys, I'm rebuilding my pedalboard...
I'm looking for a digital delay with a modulated reverse dalay.
Timeline can do it, but it's out of budget and I'm not a fan of strymon pedals, Vox Delaylab is another contender and the reverse delay can oscillate too :!!!: , but it's huge and it doesn't have tap tempo when it's bypassed.
Timebender? Looks like it is a noise machine and it's for sale on thomann!!! (128 dirty euros) :!!!: Can it self-oscillate in reverse mode too?
I'm really diveded between the Timebender and the Delaylab.

Thank you!

I've got zero experience with the timebender, but the clips/reviews/specs of the delaylab seem nothing short of impressive, especially concidering the fact it's a helluva lot cheaper then every other full blown delay modeler out there.

Other than that, the Red Panda Particle might be worth checking out. Compact, and packed with trippy noises, though I don't actually own one myself, and I can't say for sure if it does a good reverse delay w/ mod.

A superdelay can though. Not the most user friendly unit impo, but the modulation options and overal sound quality makes up for a lot. If I'm not mistaking a SDVM can be found for considerably less than what an eventide space or strymon timeline goes for, but otoh, a 128Euro timebender seems pretty damn hard to beat...

Nah, the reverse is really good but it can't do reverse with modulation.

I love my Timebender, it can do A LOT of cool stuff. I'll mess with it when I get home tonight and see if it can self-oscillate in reverse and report back. Unless rfurtkamp beats me to it. He usually chimes in with good Timebender info.
This site also has tons of good information on it http://timebenderdelay.com/

The VMSD is a bit of a learning curve, but the options totally make it worth the time spent figuring it out.
The reverse on it has modulation (fast/slow/none), and you've got a tap reverse mode and a pitch shift mode where the repeats are shifted up an octave. Lots of possibilities there.

I had the echolution 2 and IMO it has the worst reverse delay in history!
Timefucktor and VMSD are too out of budget

Yep, seems to be discontinued. Unless you stumble on a dealer with old stock, used if you want one. I know I still do. Stupid budget.

Timebender doesn't oscillate in reverse if I recall. Can use the harmonizer on the reverse though.
