Anyone know who made this?
Just bought this Fuzz Factory clone on Reverb. Looks SUPER cool, was wondering if anyone knows who made it?

I think that might be a Wooly Mammoth.
Open it up and show us some gut shots.
One of my be able to recognize a builder's handy work.

i thought it looked like a pedal I got off that guy so I scrolled down and eventually found it. dead link though so don't know the details about that particular pedal.

That was insanely fast! Thank you, this guys work looks incredible! I will definitely take a gut shot when I get it. Either way, $95 bucks seemed like a great deal to me, and even more so now that I see this guy seems to put a lot into his work!
@backwardsvoyager what did you get from him?

I got one of those two-headed horror fuzzes in a trade a while back. Like a woolly mammoth/fuzz face hybrid I think. It sounded awesome.
I'm not sure if the dude is active right now, I tried to contact him via facebook a while ago and never got a response. Great handiwork though. Hope the pedal works out for you!

Re: Anyone know who made this?
Like the first person who responded to this thread suggested, it's very possible this pedal has some components of the wolly mammoth. It does have the boost switch which is a cool addition. I can't wait to plug it in and spend some time exploring it!backwardsvoyager wrote:I got one of those two-headed horror fuzzes in a trade a while back. Like a woolly mammoth/fuzz face hybrid I think. Mastotron is derived from the Wooly Mammoth, if I'm not mistaken. You just have a "subs" switch to tailor the low end.
Also, you have the relax/push knob which seems to be a bias knob.

Re: Anyone know who made this?
Not a bias knob, its an input impedance (loading) knob. Makes the pedal behave well at whichever point in a chain you place it, whereas the original mammoth required to be the first in the chain to work "properly".ALLisNOISE wrote:Mastotron is derived from the Wooly Mammoth, if I'm not mistaken. Looks like a nice score, OP

I think Mike Fuller calls his knob that does the same thing a "Bias" knob. Because he knows fuck-all about electronics.Gigahearts_FX wrote:Not a bias knob, its an input impedance (loading) knob. My understanding of the push/relax knob had to do with whether you had passive or active pickups, kind of shaping the tone to better fit either?Gigahearts_FX wrote:Not a bias knob, its an input impedance (loading) knob. The main difference between passive and active pickups is the impedance, so you're both right.jasonmoriparty wrote:My understanding of the push/relax knob had to do with whether you had passive or active pickups, kind of shaping the tone to better fit either?Gigahearts_FX wrote:Not a bias knob, its an input impedance (loading) knob. It's a 100k pot in series with the input. Yes it changes the character response and tone somewhat of the fuzz.jasonmoriparty wrote:My understanding of the push/relax knob had to do with whether you had passive or active pickups, kind of shaping the tone to better fit either?Gigahearts_FX wrote:Not a bias knob, its an input impedance (loading) knob. Primarily used for active vs passive pickups, but also means you can use pedals with buffers in front of it and not suffer.
