Ring mod suggestions?
Tried to search the forums for a similar thread, but alas my search has proven futile.
So, any suggestions for a cool ring mod-pedal that's reasonably priced and useful? Wouldn't hurt if it could do some octave(down)-shit as well.
So far I've been looking at the LAL Sick Pitch King jr, Fuzzhugger Pocket Arcade and the Hax.

Used a Randy's Revenge for a long time, loved it. Very musical ringmod and a great boost and trem as well.
I picked up a Ring Thing - its easy tuning, presets, and 4 different modes make it really slick and flexible. It moved the RRevenge and my Whammy off the board.

Get the ring thing. I had it and wanted to replace it with separate dedicated pedals. If it wasn't for that I'd still have it. Pitch shift was great on it as well.
Just got the moog ring. Those are 150 or so new. With the expression in you could get the copilot broadcast and do sooo much.

Will check 'em out. The Ring Thing looks kinda big, though. I should probably have mentioned that space is an issue. A spacey issue. From space. Beware.

Yeah the Ring Thing is awesome. Pitch shifting whole chords cleanly is the boobs. Stepping to tune the pitch, bigger boobs. The pedal itself? Not as big as boobs.

By far the best sounding ring mod I've used was the big box Moog, so so so nice.
However I will agree with the other guys that the Ring Thing might be a good bet, it's a really great pedal, super versatile and not too expensive for what it is.

Re: Ring mod suggestions?
The only ring mod I've ever had is the Vitruvian Mod. I actually got it from this guy here that likes to voyage backward. :3
I really dig it. It can do normal sounding ring mod stuff plus synthy and octaves and harmonies and nasties. It's really fun. It can sound like not a ring mod a lot of the time in the tracking modes, but if you change to the static mode, then you remember oh yeah it's a normal ring too

I recently got the big box moog and it's pretty cool. Haven't played any other ring mods besides the smaller moog one so I can't really push it hard. it is definitely huge so that's an instant drawback

Also, here's a pros and cons list in comparison to a standard ring mod:
pros:
tunes itself to the incoming signal
presets
tone knob
expression control
lots of different wave-forms
PRESETS
cons:
?
other:
it has a really clean ring mod sound
it's also a pitch shifter. a. damn. good. pitch shifter.

Re: Ring mod suggestions?
I really liked the Moog MF-102 but sold it because it was fucking huge, its bypass was balls, and didn't play nice with my other pedals. I haven't tried the baby Moog but if I had to get another ring mod I'd go with the Ring Thing first (and I absolutely hate EHX so that's saying something)

Re: Ring mod suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestions, dudes. Keep 'em coming!
It does seem like I can only fit a mxr-sized pedal on the board without kicking something off. I dunno, I love my fuzzes, but maybe it will be worth it. It does seem the Ring Thing is the definitive answer here. Has anybody tried the LAL Sick Pitch King jr.?
