Re: Strymon Flint
It seems like a nice focused little pedal
classic "special effects" from early amps.
maybe couple it with your favorite emulator (a sansamp or something) and away you go.
which are your favorite trem/verbs on it?
(from the samples the harmonic trem sounds really good)

I'm a little strange when it comes to reverb. Until now the only one I really liked is the discontinued boss RV2, super lo-fi and dirt. I tried a bunch of other reverbs, but nada.Msstringthing wrote:It seems like a nice focused little pedal

The strymon really surprised me. Spring is cool, even though I prefer the onboard reverb of my vibroverb. 70's is a classic plate reverb, while 80's has like some kind of modulation going on, really light. It's cool because when maxed becomes infinite. The trems are good; my favourite is the harmonic.

Re: Strymon Flint
I can relate to the lo-fi verb thing..
I was around for trying to get the "SPROING" OUT of spring reverbs (hot springs style stuff and all that) and that "second wave" when the primitive digital reverbs trickled down to affordability.
and I have a really soft spot for that 80s early digital verb -- basically a gang of short DDLs or DDL taps - that grainy sound, that weird bloom
it sounds like the flint's 80s reverb has some of that

Re: Strymon Flint
so what do you think of the flint's delay-based reverb model?
The samples sound pretty good, but I've never played through one

I'm really impressed. Doesn't sound too hi-fi, a thing that I hate. Makes for great ambience, and it's great for noise. I'm really surprised, considering I hated the el capistan, and that was my only experience with a strymon.Msstringthing wrote:so what do you think of the flint's delay-based reverb model?
