midi controller > ipad

recently got turned on to the midi world
friend of mine got an alesis 25 key thing
he had some software with like infinate sounds on his pc
bunch of fun

was gonna get one of them lil alesis jamz myself
john just dropped off a casio keyboard at my place
has midi outs n ins n everything
my question is about midi and the ipad
it seems ios7 allows you to connect a controller in direct
so what apps do you guys use?
i guess im looking for somethin easy to use(beginner/stupid/techsavvy like your grandma)
and either already fully loaded or upgradable
(meaning not something specific limited to only instrument sounds)
preferrably able to upload samples into it

also interfaces with the ipad would help
looks like you can just get a series of adapters
oh will the older casio,with thebig round midi out work with ipad
or dous it have to be a newfangleusb corded conntroller

The Casio midi should/will run fine into the iPad as long as you get the right connectors, of which there are several options available.
