Re: Will foam stop the god dang buzzing?
if theres still rattle it may be the fixture itself
either tighten the screws holding it to the ceiling
or stuff fabric(dacron?) or insulation, foam, dreadlocks, etc
between the flat top of fixture and ceiling
theres all kinds of metal on metal parts friction fit in those things
find whats loose and tighten it
id be caulking the crap outta that thing right now
but im fairly used to this kinda stuff
i live in a rented apartment
had a ton of ceiling fans with low ceilings
so i took them down and dismantled and stored them
have to go back up when i leave
but again, i install and uninstall light fixtures all the time
i could walk you through it if it starts drivin you batty
i have a flourescent in the basement i could demonstrate on

Well some of the buzz was from that phone box. I fixed the hell out of that by slapping some gorilla tape on it to keep it closed. I also think there may be just miscellaneous shit on my desk buzzing. I will look into that as well. I will look into tightening the lights this weekend. I did find a work around though. I noticed if I turn my amp up really really loud it drowns out the buzzing.

I may try to take advantage of a memorial day sale and pick one up.rfurtkamp wrote:Yea, wah doesn't have to be Kirk Fucking Hammett Hendrix all day.
I can't really use one any more with bum foot/legs but...they come in handy in the toolbox.

I'm liking the way you can adjust the frequencies on this one. It seems like you can do some stupid things with it. And I am all about the stupid.
Anyone have experience with this bitch?

I had an original Teese RMC3. It was my main wah for over 10 years.
You can cop the sound of just about any other wah with it. It's really versatile.
The only complaints I had were that I had to open it up to adjust it (which has been solved with these latest versions) and that the throw was too short for me (which Teese probably won't change).
I think it's a great wah to get started with.

I saw this on their info page. Does this address your short throw concern or is this something different?
The RMC3FL also features the under-the-rocker toggle switch to change sweep speed and low end resonance.

Yeah, I've been meaning to give a newer Teese wah a chance.
Haven't gotten around to it.
While I definitely appreciate wahs that electronically extend the range of the sweep, I still prefer the actual feeling of a physically long throw. I tend to have a heavy foot and often bottom out on short throw wahs. (I once owned a Gretsch Playboy which had an incredibly short throw. I could barely move my foot without hearing metal upon metal.) I'm sure I'll pick up another Teese wah at some point. It's just not a high priority right now. I'm pretty interested in the Bass Eqwahlyzer. (I also like using bass effects with guitar.)

Yeah I think I would like a longer one too (TWSS?). But if I get this one and don't like it I can always return it at musician's friend.

Re: Will foam stop the god dang buzzing?
Yeah, I agree (and so does she).
Being able to return it is a great option. It'll also give you a chance to try out the different settings to better hear what you're looking for in a wah.
