As for other supplies, Voodoo Labs is the next best thing imo but CIOKS supplies are smaller, come with more power cables, offer more voltage variety, and supply much more current.

Re: Quick Powersupply question(cioks)
The DC8 has 8 separate outs but they're grouped into 6 isolated sections. The DC10 has 10 separate outs grouped into 8 isolated sections. You're correct about the last 2 high current sections in that you use either 9V OR 12V, not both. Each supply can run more pedals if you choose to daisy chain from a single out but you'll lose isolation on that section possibly introducing noise/hiss/hum. I'd go for the DC10, room to grow and capable of powering most anything beyond an AC powered pedal.

Re: Quick Powersupply question(cioks)
Cioks all day. Also, the two 200mA sections on the DC10 can be combined into another 400mA.
Using the DC10, I run 1-3 pedals off each 100mA out (depending on what they draw,) then use a 200mA to run a rv-2 and 400mA for a strymon.
It's currently running 11 pedals and could easily do more.
The T-Rex Fueltank Chameleon is a great supply, as well, with 5 isolated outputs pumping 300mA each. It can handle some solid daisy chaining.

Re: Quick Powersupply question(cioks)
One catch with the pink "Pussy Power" DC10 is that sections 5 and 6 (both 200mA) can't be bridged together into another isolated 400mA section like they can on a standard DC10. That may be no big deal as you'll have two ther 400mA sections to choose from.maz91379 wrote:$60 dollar difference between the two(since id opt for the pink version if i go dc 10)
As noted above, the Chameleon is nice too but I had some issues with the 18V out either not working or adding too much noise which was a bummer. On paper tho, that supply offers great features for the price.

I swear by Decibel Eleven's Hot Stone Deluxe. It's the best thing going IMHO.

Re: Quick Powersupply question(cioks)
Trex stuff has noticeably poorer power supply filtering. I would not waste the money on it. I run 23 pedals from a Cioks eventide thing (pretty much a dc10) and a pussy power. They are both fantastic, and even pedals with awful filtering like the ehx freeze don't cause a problem. Easy to mount under a pt (pro in my case) as well.

Re: Quick Powersupply question(cioks)
I have a Cioks AC10, which I needed for my XP-1000, and later my EX-7. Other than the AC out, they are basically the same supply. I end up daisy chaining off of a couple of the outputs and haven't experienced any noise problems that I can hear. It's just a rock-solid power supply that I have absolutely zero complaints about.

Cioks makes a 3-way daisy chain cable that I bought from the same place I got the AC10:Doctor X wrote:what daisy chains are you using for the cioks, chief?

Re: Quick Powersupply question(cioks)
I have an AC10, which has proven to be great for a variety of pedals.

Like the DC10, there are 10 outlets, but 8 available outs at any given time.

Keyword there is OR.
Outlets 5 and 6 are DC for 9v and 12v(or 15v) respectively, 500mA split between them.
Outlets 7 and 8 are AC for 9v and 12v respectively, 800mA split between them.
Since getting it I've used 5+6/DC and taken AC from 9+10 as needed.
In a perfect world, output 9 would be capable of 12v so I could run both my AC pedals off that one bank:
VanAmps Reverbamate needs 12v AC. Frostwave Resonator wants 16v AC, but I haven't (yet) used both together in the same setup, so no big deal...when I want to do that I have the option, even if it means sacrificing 2 high current DC outs.
It would be nice to use both off the same bank...but No big deal. I much prefer Cioks to VDL.
