MXR Blue Box clones??

What are the options out there? Love this pedal, but I couldn't go pass that infamous volume problem.

C11 mod is pretty easy. So easy I could do it. The MASF Kidnapper is a clone of the DOD Buzz Box with some changes.

I don't know of any clones available so to speak, but mammoth has kits for an expanded one (aka the popular mods people have done over the years).

My homeboy Chris at Midwest Modulations put a SHO circuit at the output stage of mine (as well as some other mods) and now it is hands down my loudest fuzz.

Mid-Fi Glitch Computer with the tracking all the way up is basically a Blue Box.

Catalinbread Perseus?

I think I'm going to clip C11 on mine, not just for the volume increase but also to get back some treble.

if the volume issue is a problem, yea, just do the mod.

There's no real need for clones.

That's how I feel. They are damn cheap, just buy one and mod it if needed.

I've heard about the volume drop but I'm not hearing it on the one I use on the settings I use it at.

Yea, I'm near maxing the output knob (which I don't have to do on any of my other fuzz/wacky pedals) but it's still a little above unity.

It's a modern red board/red LED one.
