Show was great. It was packed for a Wednesday, and while they played a few new tunes, they leaned heavily on old favorites. May not have had quite the energy and intensity of last year's AS220 show, but it was close. They sound tight and are obviously having fun. We got to talk with Henry quite a bit too...the new House of Lightning record is out, and if his post Floor project "Dove" was any indication, it'll be worth getting.
Steve's guitar tone was particularly good...maybe the best of any show (Torche or Floor) that I've seen!

I'm lucky that I have a job where I can arrange to come in late on a day like today so I can get some sleep, but Wednesday is just not a good night for a show.

Last night was pretty awesome, but last year's was truly the bomb--Elder and Thrones opened

That one and two others are up on their Bandcamp page, and are all "Name Your Price"...my buddy bought the vinyl at the show and apparently hasn't stopped listening to it for three days!

After more listens, I am writing a review right now and I must say I've grown quite fond of the album

especially when you take it in the context of Brooks' career. He has an absolutely unique sound and ideas that create a very strong and sovereign identity. I love that

and i mean... sound-wise the album crushes so hard... and I love the Boris-like ethereal solos...
