Though i'm playing 3.5 hour sessions now which I haven't done in ages, it would play for 45 minutes and left it running for an hour.

Re: The Video Game thread
I prefer playing Co-Op to competitons a thousand times more. I prefer Single player, but some games just benefit by more players. I used to play lots of MMOs when I was younger, mostly because they were cost effective and the massive amount of playtime was worth far more than a 10 hour game at full price. Now it's not so much of an issue I guess. Although funnily enough i've already given up on both Elder Scrolls Online and Titanfall. It's fun for a while but it's just like trying to eat an entire Chocolate Cake, a slice or two is enough for me now.

Re: The Video Game thread
Single player stuff is my preferred venue but I understand that's a dying breed.
ESO is a massive step away from what I loved about Oblivion and Skyrim.
Titanfall I just couldn't bring myself to care about with zero single player option.
One of the big things is I want to be able to play something a couple years from now, even if I buy it now - and don't touch it. I have a huge library of stuff, and sometimes it takes a long time to get to where I want something new. It's like music; I have over 30 years of games, emulators, and things I'd rather do from time to time.

Ehh, I feel like people are being harsh without taking it for what it is and people made up their mind going into it. Even though i'm not playing anymore, I honestly get what they were trying to do. It honestly doesn't deserve to fail, there's so many super popular MMOs/MOBAs that pale in comparison.rfurtkamp wrote: ESO is a massive step away from what I loved about Oblivion and Skyrim.
It isn't a remake, it isn't a replacement, it is just an extension of the already established universe just like:

It doesn't affect the main campaigns, it's just more cake to eat.

Re: The Video Game thread
If I'm going to pay a monthly fee and an upfront cost to boot, it has to have a playerbase and an endgame.
I wasn't impressed during the closed beta when I screwed around on a couple of the weekends.
I'm mostly just concerned this tanks future single player stuff.

There has never been an MMO based on a pre-existing game series that didn't basically piss all over the lore of that franchise.

Re: The Video Game thread
It's not so much the lore, I am not a story snob.
I do however like the plot-changing, immediate impact possible in a single player game that's not in a MMO done to date.

Re: The Video Game thread
a-am I legit yet, guys?

Apparently I tend to backpedal and strafe to the right when I'm SHOOTIN' MANS.
But I think it would actually be better to strafe left, given that most people firing at me would be right-handed and I feel that it'd be more awkward to move the mouse to the right than the left while tracking me...

Have any of you dudes heard of Tagpro?
It sounds like such a simple game, but it's fucking infuriating and difficult.
Very strategy-based multiplayer shit-graphic you-are-a-ball capture-the-flag game.

Re: The Video Game thread
have been tempted to start playing WoW since it's half off through the night... but starting a new character doesn't seem all that enticing since I'll likely end up playing solo. Would rather just play Skyrim.
in other news... Started playing Hearthstone on battle.net.
Holy shit. So addicting and fun.

Re: The Video Game thread
Yea, solo you're wasting your time in WoW. There's a ton of solo content, sure, but the onus of the game is on group stuff, even if you use the 'find a group for me' tools.
Even then you're cut out of the high end stuff (which is done for all intents and purposes now for the expansion, the top 100 guilds have been done for months, I've been done since first week of February personally and just trying to help some semi-casual friends get their stuff together for the way, way off expansion).

That Dark Souls 2 KKK group is pretty hilarious. I feel like they need whips, though to be a complete cosplay hehe

Dear nintendo: My life is not social commentary. Your deliberate refusal to put people like me in a video game is.

Sorry to hear it bothers you.
Not something I worry about but Nintendo, well, is Nintendo and way behind the curve.
There's no old fat dudes in wheelchairs done as non-laughable characters either though.
