It does seem kinda subtle, from what I've heard, compared to other flangers. A lot of other flangers sound cheesey to me, the Tunnelworm sounds sweet IMO. Only thing is that I kinda think of flanging as a production effect (?) like I wanna hear it on your whole track, not just on the guitar. Or on your drum solo. Not necessarily on your guitar only, and not all the time, or on every song. YMMV.decomposing wrote:for real, sorry. feel free to pm me.
and start discussing the tunnelworm again...
it is pretty cool sounding, maybe too subtle for me?

Like the end of Electric Wizard's "Funeralopolis" where they run the master bus through a flanger and start twisting knobs?K2000 wrote: It does seem kinda subtle, from what I've heard, compared to other flangers. Exactly. "Sky Pilot" by Eric Burdon and the Animals is another example.

yeah man, through zero flanging is incredible for those uses. I'd love to get a Tunnel Worm to use as an outboard mixing effect. woooooosh swooooooshK2000 wrote:Exactly. "Sky Pilot" by Eric Burdon and the Animals is another example.

Yeah yous guys have the same inclinations I have. I wanna get one to just run through the effects send on my Tascam 4-track when I'm doing mixing. Plus I was reading a lot about the Tunnelworm yesterday and you can set the width to full-CCW and then use the Zero knob as a manual flanger control. I don't even think I'd ever run a guitar straight through it... just as a mixing effect. And, well, that's where it comes from anyway.

Is the Flanger Hoax still the only analog TZF in production?

I believe so. I've read about everything I can on TZF flangers and there are only a few around. The old FoxRox one is apparently the best but no longer in production and worth MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Flanger Hoax is analog, TC Vortex is digital, and the SoundBlox one is digital too. Jack Deville Mod Zero is analog but out of production.

Yeah, I'm still mad that I never bought a TZF when they were like 250.Pop wrote:I believe so. I've read about everything I can on TZF flangers and there are only a few around. Re: Mr. Black TunnelWorm!
Has anyone compared the TC Electronic Vortex's TZF with the Tunnelworm? I love TZF but my only regular flange pedal is pretty unreliable so it would be nice to have a regular flanger option as well (as well as stereo I/O
). But I think the highest priority is having the best TZF for recording/mixing use so I'm not sure.
