If the rangemaster has a big enough range control it can sound good. I've used a Pigdog Driver-spec Rangemaster on bass and it brightens things up but the range control can bring lows back

Hrmmm, cool shit. I'd probably have one built with extra parameters like that. Just something to almost act like a preamp.

I'd like something like a souped up Rusty Box without the dumb boost. Maybe a separate dirty channel.
