Couldn't see sorry dude. Pretty sure she wasn't even using a whetstone though.

He's leaving his Big Muff and Axe-FX II at home in favor of a Mesa Mark V courtesy of the Intronaut guys.
Relevant.

Hard to tell in the video but Ben seems to be playing the ambient parts of songs. Fitting.
That was awesome!
I used to like Cloudkicker, but after a while the programmed drums started to get more and more on my nerves to the point that I can't listen to him anymore. But this... holy shit. I wish they'd release an album together!
They're going to record the setlist live in studio at some point during the tour
Fuck yea! But dude, have you heard let yourself be huge? Those sound pretty good for being programmed drums.

No prob! Looks like a crystal dagger right in front of her and I'm pretty sure that's the Whetstone right next to it.

The only album with drums that get on my nerves is The Discovery and that's only because the cymbals are super harshly mixed. I really don't get the distaste for the drums. Do what I do and ignore any drummer you're not playing with.
Also, it's worth noting that LYBH was Ben using an Alesis USB Electronic Drumkit to trigger Superior Drummer.

It's not that I hate the drums, it's just that they ruin the listening experience for me. It's mostly The way they always follow the guitar riffs, and the very flat dynamics. There are of course heaps of bands that trigger the life out of their drums or who use programmed drums, but I find it most tangible with cloudcicker because the music is often so great it really deserves a drummer of the Intronaut dude's calibre.
Music out on all streaming services and bandcamp and what not.

The only good programmed drums are breakcore drums.

IMO there are very few (if any) one man bands who excel in every aspect of the writing/performing/recording/producing process, or who couldn't be improved in some way with a few extra hands. It's a broad spectrum of niche skills that no single person can realistically master all at once. Cloudkicker has some good music, but it can be even better (as shown by that vid).

So the sound guy at Studio Seven was a hack, but cloudkicker was still a fucking amazing experience.
Too rowdy to get rig pics. The bassist from intronaut uses a Fulltone Bass-Drive and a Darkglass Microtubes B7K in addition to some delay, the guitarists' pedalboards haven't changed. Ben Sharp has added a Boss CE-5 and an additional RC-3 for prerecorded interludes.

I also saw Godflesh while I was here in Seattle. G.C. Green used a Fender Bass with a P/J pickup configuration, a Korg Pitchblack and a Boss HM-2 into an Ampeg SVT Classic. Justin Broadrick used some super-strat style guitars with a logo I didn't recognize, a Zoom multi-fx unit of all things, and a Marshall JCM 800 Lead Series

Yeah justin broadrick has always used digital multi fx. He used to use a big line 6 rack unit into his jcm 800 for
Jesu. But back in the OG Godlfesh days it was just an hm-2 and a dd-3.

Isn't at least the first Jesu album recorded through a Pod?

Yup. http://www.maelstromzine.com/ezine/inte ... 39_196.php
POD XT Live/Pro through an Avalon Tube Compressor/DI. The first Godflesh reunion tour was also all POD so I was kinda surprised they had a traditional rig out on the floor.
It was kinda cool and weird to see a show with 4 bands on the bill (also Cut Hands (Whitehouse solo), House of Low Culture and La Fin Absolute du Monde) and not a single drum kit.
