Re: Experimental/"out there" bass effects
I've found that the real fun with Ring Mods is stacking them, +Delay, Fuzz, Filters is where the fun is that. Not to mention that you really need to take time to learn how to "play the ring mod" naw mean? But once you break the ice they really seem to become some of the most powerful tools in the arsenal.
I'd recommend going back with yer board yeh, and try out everything you can.

Re: Experimental/"out there" bass effects
You guys.
I just got so much stuff in the mail.
Behndys tourbox showed up today. I got a goodbye 24 in there. Poly grace, year 4545, xotic robot talk, unpleasant surprise. And so many more. I can't even remember. Some of them are etched so I have to open them up to see what they are.
I can't play with any of them right now cause my kid is asleep, but tonight, Im taking some of them for a spin. I'll record some clips. Won't be the best quality, but maybe some fun sounds.
I'm so excited. My wife, not so much.

Re: Experimental/"out there" bass effects
resurrecting this thread to say that the Goodbye 24 is the tits. Ive gotten so many crazy, but still musically useful sounds out of it. I could see it being extremely useful in a solo/looping project, and in a full band, as long as said band is ok with the bassist having a little fun every now and then. Its crazy how versatile this thing is, from almost harmonizer-type settings to that crazy pitch shifting delay thing. Im in love, guys.

I was RIGHT on the verge of actually writing something on that GB 24 today when my kid flipped his shit and we had to put him down.
for a nap I mean.
anyways, I'm loving how you have to play the pedal itself. makes me play differently which I like.

that's awesome dude, I feel exactly the same way about the GB24 and I think people who don't like it seem to miss that crucial point that you have to change your playing in order to get the good sounds. a lot of pedals you just turn on and do your typical noodling but if you listen closely and are open to doing something creatively unfamiliar you might just have a lot of fun and get the experience that makes pedals awesome in the first place

Re: Experimental/"out there" bass effects
well said, sir.
Its nice that there are some settings that i can use to just rock the fuck out too. Some nice harmony/detune/chorus type effects. some stuff thats reminiscent of a whammy.
i need to get an expression pedal so I can truly unlock the potential of this box and my second voice.

Goodbye24 is not an effect you play with; it's an instrument you play or at the very least, an effect you play to

Re: Experimental/"out there" bass effects
I just kicked 2 dirt pedals off my board temporarily. At least one is permanent. My TAFM and SSStampede reign supreme. Unpleasant Surprise is in a trial period and I have an Ab-Synth on the way.
Now I'm on the hunt for a fuzz that isn't JUST a fuzz. Maybe some weird filter fuzz or something? I wanna try a Prunes and Custard, but I don't play Muse covers, so...
Anything played any interesting Fuzzes lately?

Yessss.
Gonna hold out till I can get my hands on a bass whammy though.
TSVG Babbling Flower seems interesting. Dunno if its really anything more than a fuzz though.

Do you have any interest in trying an Iron Ether Oxide? maybe we could do a temp trade? It's pretty cool, I've kept it around for about a year, longer than most pedals I have now. if you like it you could buy it if not ship it back?
