All my footswitches are getting dicked up

Post by bobman360 »

So after a few months, all of the switches on my pedals start having issues switching on and off.
Eventually even the clean signal does not come through. Is there anything I can do to make this not happen, cause it's a pain.

I approve of your use of dicked.
Which pedals? Those switches are supposed to last for a dickton of clicks.

Only my Muff and Pharaoh. The Muff I had for about a year before it got like that and I've only had the pharaoh since December :(

Footswitches are the part that fails most often on pedals. It wouldn't cost that much to just replace them and see if that fixes the problem.

... or they may just need a proper cleaning.

If you're not a DIY guy just email Mark at BAT about that Pharaoh. I'm sure he'd replace that switch for you if you send it his way.

Where are you using them? For a while the band I was in practiced in an unfinished commercial property. There was sawdust and plaster dust everywhere and it messed up a lot of my switches.

Sounds like a plan! Thanks for letting me know about that.

They do get dirty and junked up with regular use. Sometimes spraying them out with Deoxit or the like buys you some time, but generally you have to disassemble them and clean the contact plates. Can be a huge pain depending on how it's wired up...as Schnikes said, BAT's Mark will set you up if you're uncomfortable with doing this kind of thing, his customer service is top shelf :thumb:
Special low-frequency version.
