 awesome! such an incredible guitar for the money. I gig with mine and if it weren't for my tendency to knock strings out of it all the time it would be the only guitar i ever need.
Congrats...I've got one too, and they are GREAT guitars...!!

There are a slew of old Yamaha guitars from the 80s and 90s that produce great sounds for next to nothing. I have a Yamaha SC-300T that gets a killer strat tone and only cost me $80 from the pawn shop.

For an 8 string, I don't think you'll be able to find a better deal on new guitar than an Agile.

My personal best is my Fernandes Monterey Elite, a $1k guitar I got for about $450.

A Maton Mastersound MS500. Great solid body electric at a good price. Made in Melbourne Australia. Very retro looking and sounding though the stock pickups can always do with swapping out. I replaced mine with a set of hot P90s. Awesome guitars!!

Love my Squier VM Jaguar. It just sort of works and looks gorgeous. I replaced the bridge saddles with GraphTech Mustang saddles and put on some Schaller Straplocks and I was good to go.

I got my MIM Strat super cheap, but I wouldn't count it as bang for your buck. I replaced all the electronics, the tuners, the pickguard, and the tremolo block. It is perfect for me, now, but it took a lot of work to get there.

I traded some stuff for a new sonic blue Squier VM Jazzmaster. It's in the shop getting a new jack & Mustang bridge and getting set up for DADGAD. Can't wait to get it to the studio. I really dug the pickups when i tried it in the store. Bridge was a touch shrill on its own, but I generally stay on mid position anyway and that sounded great. Chimey & luscious. Been wanting a second JM for a long time and this thread convinced me to jump in the Squier pool. Thanks, y'all!

New: Squier La Cabronita Telecaster $300. Used: whatever you get lucky with, but I'm partial toward some of the Pawlonia Dean Evos that go for about $60 used. Butt ugly and the pickups and hardware aren't the best, but they play well and have an excellent basic sound.

Seems like the Gothic line gets a lot of love round these parts. Wouldn't mind getting a Gothic SG myself.

Also your avatar is absolutely bitchin' Mudsy. Image
