My setup currently is Rusty into Peavey 120/120 actually. Awesome tones from that, not at all budget sounding.
That science amp looks awesome tho. Gotta love KT88 power sections
Spend the cash on a Mother if you can manage it. That amp looks amazing and can pull double duty on bass or guitar. Both my Science amps are fantastic. They sound amazing, smart design/feature set, and gorgeous build inside and out. I don't think you can go wrong with that amp.
Lastly, I think Alex may offer a discount if you buy a head/cab together...
Yea quite a dilemma with the mother amp I can just barley swing it...maybe I should just go for it I dunno. That peavey 120/120 looks interesting as well.
I have no experience with the Peavey but the Hovercraft stuff you mentioned is pretty cool. I've owned and sold a couple Dwarvenauts, one spec'd for guitar and the other for my Bass VI, and they both sounded great. Obviously you'll need one of the bigger models. They're essentially just modded Jet City amps with a cosmetic overhaul as far as I can tell but they sound really sweet and I never had any issues with mine. Nial is great to deal with too, he'll tailor the amp to your liking if you simply discuss what you need via email.
The Mother would take things to a whole other level tho and would surely rip on bass or guitar. I've never tried that model but on paper is sounds SICK and Alex sent me some great sound clips awhile back. It's not cheap, most expensive Science model at 2K I'm thinking, but def a fair price when compared to other hand crafted boutique alternatives that offer that much wattage. And there's nothing I've ever seen quite like a Mother before, like a Hiwatt DR201 with an added OD input to get the grind going on bass or guitar. Pretty cool take on a bad ass classic amp.
But yeah, I'm sure you could get some great tones going spending far less cash.
Yea I have the same feelings the mother would be amazo and when looking at Hovercraft vs Science the price difference is small enough that I would rather go with the Science Amps.

Agreed. If you're considering spending that much on a Hovercraft it would much wiser to come up the difference and go for the Science. No question.
