Hey ILF, another question here.
Does anyone know what kind of delay is being used here, or what kind of settings it might be? I absolutely adore that dubby washed out delay sound on the guitars. Also, does anyone have an idea how they applied it to the drums?

I've got a Boss DD-20, any tips on achieving a similar effect? I've never been good with delays...

You just need a passive bass, a tube amp, and a metric ton of marijuana and Sabbath worship.

Re: Tame Impala Delay
The notable part of his signal chain here is Carbon Copy delay -> Holy Grail reverb -> MXR compressor. I think a squishy compressor is pretty key to the nature of his washed out sound. That's how the repeats stay pretty strong in the mix up until the next chord is hit.

Oh, I had no idea compressors had such an impact when used with modulation effects. Thanks alot! Looks like I need an MXR compressor now.
