I'm a little hot and cold with it. If I had a regular oscillator to go with it (I'm looking at you, Dixie v1) I think I'd be a little bit more happy.
I think what bugs me is that when you send CV to it, it can either be REALLY responsive, or just not do anything at all.
Depending on the situation you can get it to be rhythmic if you want it to and the cycle feature is pretty cool (which the table top unit doesn't have)
It can't do a pure square very easily, but it has SO much texture in it. It can sound a little thin at times, but I send it through the MMG to fatten it up
thanks for the reply! i'm looking for a distortion/filter/waveshaper of some sort, not sure what yet, been reading up on different stuff including the triple 6. it sounds crazy but seems its pretty random and difficult to control. i dont do much chaotic noise improv, trying for more subtle "designed" sounds haha so im not sure if it will work for me in that context. right now im leaning slightly more towards the FOH Plague Bearer. but maybe something else. The Dixie is a sweet VCO/LFO. and its so small, get 2 (or 3)! the STO or TiptopZ300 sound equally amazing and not too different price and size wise too!
heres what i've been working with:

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Did any of you that are on Muff's notice that Mike (MuffWiggler) opened a MuffWiggler store? It is selling mostly Euro stuff, but BEMI and DSI will be sold there too. There is going to be a physical location as well in Portland. I am not sure but I think it may be connected to Control because there was some VERY similar wording on both sites that someone noticed.
Anyways, this would be AWESOME news if I was into Euro. More competition will be good.

No problem dude! It is extremely random, but once you find settings it's easy to control and you get used to it and can find the sounds you want. It can do rythmic stuff if you dial it in right. The best sound I have ever gotten out of it was feeding it into the 1v per octave of a Malekko Anti-Oscillator. SUPER thick and mean.
I'd like to definitely pick up a Dixie! I've got it planned where I've got about 4hp left.

I think you picked the Image embedding thing instead of youtube.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Well, the TAX MAN brought me some good news: If fixing the brakes on my shitty Kia doesn't deplete me of all my resources, then this guy is gonna get him some new modules. I'd like a sequencer like the Intellijel Metropolis, and from there, I'm gonna be looking into waveshapers and maybe another filter. I'm still rocking all the very plain Doepfer stuff right now. Can't wait to branch out!

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
NICE!
I should have a custom COA panel of Serge in a few weeks to go with my one panel. There is a TKB kit being released soon so I am going to snag that.
I also started getting some Modcan A stuff to go with my Serge. The Modcan A is banana and the line has a lot of cool stuff that Serge doesn't have and some good utility modules too.
EXCITE!

So, like, what do you all amplify this shit with? PAs? Guit amps? Just do headphones?

But one of your "regular" amps is a PA amp.
We should get together again sometime, if for no other reason, just so I can hear your modular and fender PA.
