What amp/gear for keyboards and vocal amplification?
I want something I can run keyboards and vocals out of that will sound decent for both. Is that common? I'm thinking like PA gear? I'd spend around $300-400? I also already have a mixer.

Yeah they're fairly common. My mate has a Laney, looks from some lazy googling that it's an "AH-" of some kind. Sounds pretty good, it's loud enough for little gigs.

If you have a Mixer, look out for a cheapie used power amp, you can score one for $125-150.
If you want new speakers, these are cheap and decent, I have a pair. http://www.seismicaudiospeakers.com/dua ... 0FgwVy4nlI
They also have powered speakers on that site., but I prefer having a separate power amp.
Having a PA will payoff over time.

yeah I definitely agree investing in a PA would be a better thing to do. Those little amps are convenient but a real PA will sound better, especially at high volume.

Also, learning how to run live sound is a skill that could come in handy over time. With a mixer you will learn about gain staging and that knowledge could be applied to a lot of musical ideas. Plus you can really learn how powerful sends are in a mixer and the cool shit that you can do with your effects in different situations.
