I too have found vocals -> fuzz always sounds bad but I never tried to make it sound good. Ive had better luck with the ds-1 for harshness and high end shrill but retain some word clarity. I used to have a vocal board and the same phone carbon mic soni showed but quickly tore it apart because feedback is CRAZY. Like...no live shows unless the speakers are 40 feet away. I do all vocal processing in DAWs. Bit crushing ftw.

I think a Roger Mayer Axis fuzz could work well for the same reason as the DS-1, it's really tight on the bass side.

And a rat too I guess.

I run vocals through one of these:

It sounds shitty but in a good way. Just make sure you turn the tone fully clockwise!

I didn't even think to try fuzz's with clean blends, I feel like that is a no brainier and I'm a dummy for not realizing it. I tried running a walrus audio Janus at the end of everything to decent results. I use the tremelo alot on loops but I haven't really messed with the fuzz, I dialed the clean blend really high and did some tests. I can get some decent tones with the joystick but I notice the more bass deepend I add the more my signal hates me. It's a shame because balls to the wall cranked no clean blend sounds fucking awesome, it's just the unwanted feedback I get sucks and had the potential to ruin loops if i cant control it musically.I really want to get that fuzz fuzz fuzz fucked up on everything noise on my voice, but with not as much feed back. I'm gonna have to try these suggestions out! You guys are the fucking best and you always help me think of new ways to piss my neighbors off sonically, and for that I love y'all.

I've heard that other people like Rats or Death Metal pedals in a mixer effects send/return (for blend)

My vocalist runs through a RAT and an RV6 like 90% of the time and it's rad.
