I need a guitar to fiddle around with at home... Do you guys think that guitar is worth $50?
For $50? What do you guys think?

Try it in store somewhere. Don't they sell them at best buy or something?

Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

In my opinion, as long as the neck feels good in your hands, you can go wrong for $50. There are so many options out there to choose from, when it comes to aftermarket parts, that it makes very little difference which guitar you get, imo. Now obviously, there's beginner's and then there's CRAP but I've heard a few nice things about First Act guitars, so I'd say play one, then go for it if it works for you.
I'm a huge fan of the cheap Squier Affinity Telecasters. They don't sound bad, play well and have a very nice finish. And they cost less than $200!! I hear Jay Tursers are nice too.

For $50, I would definitely get it if you just want to have an electric to mess around with. As long as the action is decent and doesn't have a ton of buzz. You can always replace the pickup later, and the fx and amp you use are much bigger factors in your tone than what guitar you're using imo.

New first acts kick ass. I just played a new one at walmart (old ones could cut frankenstien's hands) and I have to say for a buget guitar it is right up there and even passes squire's affinity seires.
