What is the tidy looking tabletop case being used in these photos?

That looks almost exactly like my pedalboard - mine's a Stagemaster (I think they're built in Canada but who knows). The top just comes off and you have the bottom as your case.

You can check a few pages back in the pedalboard thread for a recent pic

i was looking for a tabletop case (pedaltrain didnt have the dimensions i wanted) and was considering these aluminum CNB cases. quite reasonably priced and they look fairly sturdy

Awesome suggestions. Both seem to fit the bill.

Is Velcro enough to keep everything safe in something like this? At least in vehicle transport?

that velcro they sell at home depot/lowes should hold your shit tight if u have stuff thats on the heavier side.

u can add some foam to the top for a snugger fit if theres not enough.

You can buy "industrial" velcro from a guitar shop for 25 bucks or you can buy some "normal" velcro from a craft shop for 3 bucks. The stuff I bought wasn't amazing, but I used a little shoo goo to it and it won't move off the board anymore. My board has an extra level of foam so nothings actually glued to the board. And once it's on the velcro, nothing moves, at all!! I take my board to jams all the time from home and there's never anything out of place.

The Rondo case does look like it. If you look elsewhere in their website, they seem to have cases in the same black/metal style as well. Thanks!

I have one of the rondo cases.
It's not bad. It would be a fine table top case. It's probably not great if you're a touring musician with lots of gear that might land on top of it. it's sturdy but they are cheap.

The verdict seems to be mixed on the Rondo cases. Some people are saying the hinges are easily breakable, etc.

I see many analogous case makers now that I have Rondo as a sort of baseline to search from. I suppose, as I see being said about pedalboards, it may be best to try and DIY one of these if at all possible since baggage handler durability isn't so much a concern as general use.

^i made my own out of a briefcase i got at the salvo.

velco, a flat wood board and some seafoam green foam. had to change the hinges on it so i could remove the top. sometimes i wish i had kept the top on so i could keep my ritz crackers & oreos in there.

I had a Rondo case for a pedalboard for a while. It was ok, but sure enough, I did need to be really careful with it - after a year of light gigging and weekly practices, the velcro lining started coming off the bottom (easily fixed - I just tore it out and replaced it with industrial indoor/outdoor carpeting, which held my pedal's hooky velcro just find), one front latch got really loose and would pop if not properly locked down, and one hinge came off the back. No complete disasterous fails, but I don't think it would have held up to any serious abuse. I just switched over to a pedaltrain (2, I think) with a hard case, which feels much tougher.
