Now...i'm not in cross fit...never got a chance to give it go really. But last week I signed up to do a London to Brighton Night-Ride...we start in london at 11pm and head to Brighton which is about 100km of cycling...I've also decided/committed to do it on my fixie.
This week...I've started to train, which means i've extended my ride to work in the mornings and am now doing about 20km a day...today was the second day in, and i was really feeling the pain my legs and it was raining, which made it worse...but tracking ok so far...i might start taking pictures of my legs to see the progress in muscle definition, could be interesting.
So I went to the doctor yesterday and BAM! Upper respiratory infection!
I'm on prescription strength mucinex and a Z-pack so no lifting until next week.
On the plus side I have no appetite so my cut is going to be MUCH easier for the next few days.

you're gonna need it with all that cycling.

So I've been thinking about going back and doing Oly-style lifting (haven't done it since I was playing rugby) and while looking up routine ideas I spotted this video on the accessory workouts the Chinese do. Seeing as they're whooping some ass in the Oly lifting circuit I thought it would be some interesting insight:
As for the foam roller, if you're on a tight budget I've noticed that a baseball or lacrosse ball also works wonders and can be found for cheap.
