This is my custom ordered Dirge Electronics Ssstampede. Controls are vol/oscillation/fuzz, toggles for gloom/diode/photo eye on off. Right stomp switch is on/off, left switch activates the oscillation. Pink LED's for tonez.
Story is I've been creeping on Skully's shit once I found out he made pedals, and early on after watching demos I decided I wanted the gloom drive, but with some oscillation and control of that through a photo eye. I really like the smooth big character (TWSS) that the gloom had, plus dat noise gate yo. After some brief talks with Evan, we decided this circuit would suit what I was looking for most.
So, at its core, its basically a Ssstampede on crack, since the gloom doesn't oscillate on its own. Luckly this has a switch to turn it into a gloom drive at any time, so its like two fuzzes for the price of one! DOUBLE DIRGE BABEH!
Here's a slightly groggy demo I did of it this morning:
As I said in the demo, overall I'm super pleased with it. Evan does great work and I trusted him completely with the build process, and it came out better than I expected. I've finally found my muff killer with this little box o noise, its literally the fuzz tone I've been after ever since I was a kid trying to play along with The White Stripes. Fucking amazing work. I would definitely recommend getting Skully to build you something if he hasn't already, his circuits are fucking genius, the graphics are tight, and the boxes are built like damn tanks. Can't wait to bring the noise with this thing on future recordings.
If y'all have any super technical questions about components n stuff, I'm sure Skully will show up to answer them.
