All you electronic guys... I don't know how you do it. I need my hardware.quarterpound wrote:i don't think so... anorchidtexture uses an autofilter pedal sometimes but not on that one iirc. there are a few filters on my side though -- but on this track i'm all software. I think it's Fabfilter Volcano.

i adore hardware... but i can't afford what i would need to make that particular piece. if i could though it would all be controlled by buchla touchplate!

gunslinger, I got around to In the Abode of the Kia (lol) at last. Man that is cool, I confess I got a touch distracted in the middle of both parts, but each part was way cool. Also I respect that since you aren't editing the pieces much it takes a long time to flesh a lot of these ideas out live and they're just plain addictive at volume, I totally think it's cool. The latter half was particularly interesting, bring it on folks! I love this forum.

Re: Share Your Noise
Thanks dude! My stuff is probably 90% improvised, and they are all just one take; there are no overdubs or added parts. Sometimes the guitar riffs are things I've been toying with, but the rest is just flow. And yes. VOLUME. I have learned the hard way to wear earplugs when I play live shows. I'm actually just now starting to toy with composing things more, but there are so many variables to take into account, since I want to be able to play a piece in one take.quarterpound wrote:gunslinger, I got around to In the Abode of the Kia (lol) at last. Re: Share Your Noise
sure. it's funny how much easier it is to write a conventional song than anything free-sounding. the inspiration may come easily but playing it twice is wtf hard. plus, i'd need about eight more compressors to fully recapture some of my stuff in a live capacity.

Re: Share Your Noise
Here's something I recorded a little while back.
It starts out with just an ambient kinda guitar part, then some noise stuff comes in.
I recorded the guitar like:
Guitar > TC Electronic Nova Modulator > TC Electronic Nova Delay > Computer
And the noise:
Nova Delay > Nova Mod > back into Nova Delay > Computer
Also, just for kicks.
Here's a loop I made on accident one time, by recording about 2 or 3 minutes of playing into an old keyboard.
The keyboard shortened it into about a 3 second loop, and I have no idea what process it did that by.

Here's my noise...it also verges onto musique concrete, experimental, and sort of dark ambient at times.

Re: Share Your Noise
just getting back to this thread. Today I have something old to share, which I actually forgot I had posted to soundcloud previously, as a private link, just to share with the co-creator. It may get taken down soonish to make space, but it occurred to me that first, you guys should hear it; I think someone here might like it. I am actually kinda surprised we livejammed it spontaneously, in a way, tho obvs it's not terribly structured. Definitely a piece to sit back and relax to. Enjoy!

Re: Share Your Noise
Here is a great noise track I made. It is a synth patch I created on my Novation MiniNova.

GrendelDark: that is a very cool patch indeed! Nice work, was that all in the MiniNova? One pass?
