Yeah I'm really excited to see what Dave (that's what us DMB heads call him for short) picked to have us hear it exactly as he intended. I hope he includes Ants Marching, I hear there's a lot of nuance and detail to that song that's lost because of poor audio quality.

As a person who can hear dog whistles and other supersonic fequencies, I disagree with his arguments about our ability to perceive the visual and audible spectrums. But his overall point is correct. It has gotten to a point where it's a gimmick and 90% of the people who buy it literally won't be able to hear the difference.

A good friend of mine is a Dave fan. We have a lot of fun with that one.

The only thing good about this in practice after a bit of thinking is they're getting behind FLACs, which have no copy protection.

For once it's a "new" format being promoted without being shackled to bullshit restrictions.
