I really like a RAT into the BAT Pharaoh. I recorded this track with that on one side and RAT into a Meathead (dark?) on the other side and just the RAT on bass...

Pharaoh or Bluebeard would be my first suggestions.

Guitarists seem to prefer the Pharaoh, while bassists seem to prefer the Bluebeard.

This. Those pedals seem like they were all made for each other.

Agreed.

Everyone I've seen with a bluebeard on their board for a long time has always seemed to have a rat paired with it.

And well you can't argue with Stephen O'Malley's amazing fucking tone:

I pair my Bluebeard with my Rat Tail. I also liked my Pharaoh with my RT. Both work really well. I kept the Bluebeard though, sold the pharaoh.

My vote is or the pharaoh as well. I've been using a rat into a pharaoh and it hauls so much ass. That pedal is exactly what I was looking for and is my first successful attempt at stacking gain.
