The OC70 and the NKT sound to me a little tighter in the low end and more focussed. But I think maybe to make this a fair reflection on transistor models it would be necessary to test batches of each.

absolutely, this is by no means a thorough comparison, if anything it reflects my changing taste in FF.
I started out with 2x AC128 both selected from around 10 transistors, then I added a NKT275 after experimenting with 2 NKT275 and the order, then did the same when I rediscovered my OC77 transistors and ended up with liking the two OC70s best.

did you compensate the bias for different gain values in the circuit? or did you get transistors with comparable gains?
