Re: That Mooer pedalboard got me thinking...
I like these: FOG, Hustle Drive, Ninety Orange, Pure Boost, ReEcho, Yellow Comp (I have the ones in black)
I had these but I didn't like them: Elec Lady, Ensemble King, Trelicopter
Pedalboard: (Yellow Comp) -> Ninety Orange -> (Pure Boost) -> FOG -> Hustle Drive -> ReEcho
The FOG is a very nice fuzz, very dirty, I'd say it's probably based on the Woolly Mammoth but it sounds better to my ears and I found it to be a bit easier to dial it in.
The Hustle Drive is a very good drive pedal, it maybe sounds even better than the OCD to my ears.
The Ninety Orange is a nice phaser not unlike the current reissue of the Phase 90 (not the Custom Shop one) and it gets this cool special sound not unlike the electric piano on Led Zep's No Quarter when you turn the speed up high.
The Pure Boost is great for boosting your regular drive pedal into dirty fuzz territory when you turn up the bass and the volume.
The ReEcho sounds superb as a nice washy echo, it has a very analog like feel and warmth and it's still clear enough to do those galloping delays.
The Yellow Comp is just a nice compressor that can go from subtle to a bit more extreme.

I will take all the black ones please.
Actually, I had no idea there were so many cool little clones in the Mooer catalog.
The electric lady dealy looks pretty cool.
I have been considering trying to make friends with a rat again...although, that metal muff....
Anyone know what these mofos sound like?

After a little more thought, I have to ask: Mooer, why no FZ2 clone?
Tiny hyper fuzz....that would rule.

Re: That Mooer pedalboard got me thinking...
The problem with these micro Mooer pedals is that - at least in the UK - these pedals aren't exactly cheap, and a second-hand version of the real thing they're cloning or based on can be had for very little more outlay.

Re: That Mooer pedalboard got me thinking...
My feelings exactly. When the Mooers were introduced, they were less than half the price they are now ($45 instead of $98). A $45 dollar Mooer is a square deal. With Mooers at $98 I would rather buy a used version of the original pedal, or a home-brewed clone. Micro size pedals are nice, but not mandatory... they suck for knob-twiddling, for one thing.Ro_S wrote:The problem with these micro Mooer pedals is that - at least in the UK - these pedals aren't exactly cheap, and a second-hand version of the real thing they're cloning or based on can be had for very little more outlay.

Re: That Mooer pedalboard got me thinking...
I just looked into that. I'd previously fobbed it off as being closer to a superfuzz of old (which is cool, but lacked that wall of kkkkkkkkzzzzzzzzzzzKKKKKKZZZ:doom: that I was getting a little more from the FZ2) BUT, I did some research and it looks pretty fucking swank.Tristan wrote:Malekko did one I think.
Plus, Christian(atl) recommended it, and you can't knock that back.
Yeah....that's kinda blowing the goat for me a bit in regards to price.K2000 wrote:My feelings exactly. On the knob front, I usually set it and forget it once I find something that works live, so, less of an issue with a tiny pedal.

Re: That Mooer pedalboard got me thinking...
I listened to a few demos of the Malekko Fuzz. I'm not hearing the dissonant, chord-mangling Fuzz 1 setting that I'm kind of missing right now.

Re: That Mooer pedalboard got me thinking...
Anyone know if the Mooer "Triangle Buff" is actually built like a "triangle" Big Muff, or is it just a basic Big Muff?
Thanks!
Thanks!
