I like the diagrams on the Sound City site:AxAxSxS wrote:You have two 16 ohm speakers so you will want to wire each pair in parallel so that the pos and neg from the diagram go to each speaker. +Y -Y The bottom of the Y's would go to where the diagram leaves off, and the top to it's respective connection on the speaker. This will give you your 8ohm load. Someone correct me if I went lysdexic on this again. It's been known to happenemptyparadigm wrote:AxAxSxS wrote:http://www.cedist.com/sites/default/fil ... rawing.pdf <--- Wiring diagram that shows all you need to know.pelliott wrote:I might be wrong but maybe the 4 ohm mono only works at 8 ohms (two 16 ohm speakers?) if there's another load in the 8 ohm stereo right input. And someone else correct me if I'm wrong here, but if you're running one amp, you'll run it out of the 4 ohm input I thiiiiink?emptyparadigm wrote:So, I bought this to wire up one of my 412s (loaded with 16 ohm V30s), but I have no idea how to do it. I am an idiot when it comes to wiring/schematics. Someone want to explain how to make this work like I want it to? Also, how is it possible that one jack is for both 8 ohm stereo and 4 ohm mono? CONFUSED.

ugh a mid control. lol I always hate to see that but the going rate is a bit hard to tell without more info on that particular ampconky wrote:See that's what I'm scared of. Looks to be pretty well kept on the outside and was recently retubed with jjel34s. What would be the going rate on them used? The guy wants 2,000 for it or trades. Its on the Atlanta craigslist if you wanna check it out.

Hmmmm its got a mids knob. Nick usually says to stay away from those, but I believe that the models with the mids knob is when they started the new era of building and the quality increased. BUT I'm not positive on that.conky wrote:See that's what I'm scared of. Looks to be pretty well kept on the outside and was recently retubed with jjel34s. What would be the going rate on them used?
