Black Arts Toneworks Oath Fuzz

Post by OakenTower »

I just ordered one without doing any previous research. I know Pike had one on his current board so that was enough of a reason to try it out but I'm curious to hear more about the pedal. Info online is pretty scarse for this particular pedal. Hoping it will stack well with my Pharaoh. Send me some user feedback(bad pun)

It's really loud.

I like it stacked into the Pharaoh.

It's basically the BAT Revelation (Superbass version) with all controls maxed at 10. Sounds incredible but it is crazy loud. I prefer the Revelation just for flexibility's sake.

I just adjust the volume on the Pharaoh to suit the output of the Oath.

I added a trim pot to the circuit (see diy section here with "tame oath" in The title)

Yeah, The Oath was born because Will (human certainty here at ILF) from the band Indian was running his Revelation with pre-gain, gain, and volume maxed at all times. Oath gave him that same boost in smaller footprint with no controls to fuss over.

Think that's how the story went.

I just ordered one (what with the sale and all). I axed Mark if it had an internal volume trim, and he said "it wouldn't be an Oath then would it"!

The pedal arrived and I was able to crank up for a half an hour of pure tonal carnage earlier. Sounded way different than my Pharaoh. Way more nasty and vicious and just as much massive low end. Very stoked on this thing. Killer looking as well.
