Speaking of the HM-2, anybody know where I can find replacement knobs?
I got it with none, and although I don't need to tell visually they're turned to ten, those bright orange tipped fuckers just look lovely.

I've been getting my Bloodbath and Grave on lately... kicking myself for not going for the Dunwich HM-2... oh well, there's always the next round! Not sure about authentic replacement knobs, but these could do in a pinch.

If your head was voiced brighter then you liked, how would you tame it. It doesn't have a preamp in or an effects loop. Eq or preamp pedal? Which would you attempt first?

No bright cap mod to be done? I don't know exactly what a bright cap mod is, I just know that it's a thing and it could potentially be a solution.

It's a Peavey VTA 400, 200w tube with kt88's. I'll give you some back story. I got this about 2wks(ish) before I left and didn't get to do much fucking with it. The cab I had it running through could have been a bad match.(Sunn 215bh with folded horn. It's not the cab because it sounds great with my VB-2.) I'm leaning more towards the tubes. The guy I got it from liked this tube/head match because of this very reason. But.... I'm not gonna drop the cash for new tubes when these have low hours on them. When I get home I'm going to do allot more fucking with it. Like swapping cabs to my aguilar db810.(which I was trying to avoid because I love the VB-2>810 combo.)
Like I've mentioned 30 times already, I just got a acoustic 370 that I'll be bringing home with me as well. I just hate the idea of jumping ship.

I have the opposite problem right now and doombros tell me to check out a rangemaster...so I guess you want the opposite of that, but I don't know what that is.

I would start with an eq - maybe a Dr. Scientist Cleanness or EQD Tonejob?

So I run a dual rig and the purpose was really to make it as huge possible while still achieving my tone. Right around the time I was first considering a dual rig, I talked to Dase (bassist for clagg) about his rig. He also runs a dual rig, But he runs a tym guitars big bottom v2 pedal. It splits the signal with a crossover a seems out bass and miss amd highs out separately. I was trying to do this thru eqing. But I wasn't really happy with the initial results.

On another note, I just came across this the other day. It's nocturnal poisoning. The New project from Scott Conner (Malefic, the guy responsible for the one man black metal band Xasthur. I was never personally fan but whatever.)

This new stuff is only acoustic and it's ridiculous how dissonant it is. He named the upcoming album Doomgrass. Well just wanted to share this.

(This song isn't necessarily incredibly dissonant. I'm not to familiar with his stuff and I just grabbed this one because the beginning sounded cool.)

So I'm just gonna assume they are and buy some new ones. I found some tung sol's for 5 bucks a pop so I'm going to pick those up.

Can anyone tell me what the 6an8 tube is for in this amp. I'm having trouble finding schematics to post so....

I liked the EHX 6ca7 set that I put in my 2204. They seemed to game the highs a little better than the GT el34s that were in there. That may just be because the different tube type though. I have some EH and Sovtek 12ax7s that are high gain that are brighter. I'm not sure which brands are on the other end though.
