Sounds like an octave fuzz to me, although it's hard to tell because they've done something else to it.

It's not easy to tell what's really going on, I also hear an octave of some kind but I think a Whammy or a POG or something combined with a distortion or distortion like fuzz and maybe some chorus will get you close.
good deals with: the_brow, phantasmagorovich, alexsga, DarkAxel, goroth, The Wood Wizard, Tendollarcat, vbps, monkeydancer, intothegroove, Brobee

He's a small enough act that he might respond to messages so I sent him one asking what he's doing. I'll let you know what it is if he responds! I don't really think it spuds like much digital octave..I'm kind of going in the direction of a slightly gated octave fuZz with either multi voice chorus or multiple guitar tracks

yeah he responded quick!

turns out we are all gear snobs and think everything has to come from an elaborate setup. He said he just cranked a boutique amp.....he cant remember the name though.

Boutique amps don't usually add an octave…

Definitely sounds octaved up. Doubled tracked guitars? Maybe the synth from the rest of the song is playing the higher parts...or lower?
Good stuff however it was done.
