ill be honest, im a little put off by puresalem just based on this quote from their faq

first off know-how is hypenated
second, that seems a little vague.

but yeah, my price point is 1k, all these guitars are built in korea or china.
but id rather buy from a korean factory that i iknow a little bit about.

like my casino, it's korean but it was built in a factory that put out some pretty good shit, iirc.

I'd think the casino fits the criteria, but what are you not digging about it? not white enough?!

I have a Oscar-Schmidt OE-30 (way under budget!), and I had p90s installed. It's great! ..especially since I got it really cheap on craigslist and the p90 install was also pretty cheap. But it's kind of on the heavy side (not quite les paul heavy, but more than you'd think being a hollowbody).



Also, did you already consider buying the humbucker guitar of your dreams, and putting in humbucker-sized p90s?

ha, yeah, i have considered a lot of things, but never did buy a chibson, or anything else.

i just want another guitar to double tracks with, and casinos are totally not pratical at loud volume unless you fill them with foam or whatever, and even then im not sure.

i would love if there was a legit p90/bucker coil tapped pickup. my friend got some of those 3 way coil tap (bucker/rail/p90) pickups a cpl years ago (they were dimarzio or seymours cant remember)
they sounded awful

my buddy has the hookup on chibsons, so thats an option

id like something sg like weight and feel wise, gotta be 24.75 scale length, thats about it

I've had 6 or 7 of these new Hags and aside from some minor indonesian roughness-around-the edges, they are generally incredible guitars for the $$$. The necks are slender but incredibly stable. As to be expected, the pickups and hardware are underwhelming...two of mine have humbucker-sized P90s in them now, a great option if only b/c the hum-equipped models are easier to find and I planned on ripping out the p/ups anway.
Hagstrom does still make some guitars in Sweden (I think they're called "Northen" models) but these sub-$1000 axes all come from Asia.
I came close to buying the guitar in that link...seller had already upgraded the p/ups with DiMarzios and it still only sold for around $300 in mint condition. Keep your eyes open, the used market on these is a gold-mine!

I think someone already nabbed MEC's guitar, that was a steal. If I had the coin right now I'd have grabbed it and modded the shit out of it.
