I was gonna suggest this too as Fliptops makes a very nice replica headshell. Downside is cost, probably $350 shipped to Europe. :(
the empty shells show up all the time on ebay. usually around $100. I think its worth it. the vt-22 weighs a ton.

Hmm, I might consider that route for my VT-40. Goddamn is that thing every heavy. To get it to my tech I had to take it up a set of stairs, and then back down one and I was seriously aching afterwards.

I'm pretty sure it's lighter than my Roost 2x12", so the whole weight issue does not seem to be so very important. It's a little annoying that it's running on US power so I will need a power transformer to scale down to those 110V. Maybe I should not do it after all.

but the V9 is a V4 with an svt power section. maybe the chassis are the same?

1000s was actually surprisingly less loud than the V4.

really? i have had people on here tell me a 200s was nearly as loud as a v4. i figured a 1000s/2000s would be like a bomb going off

but not nearly V4 loud.
