Yeah. On the youtubes it seems like the Ritual is higher-gain and less treble-y than the original. Which, obviously, is very relevant to my interests.
Anyone used one of these on bass before?

I know this already got answered way better than I ever could, but I'll go anyway.
The amp has 4 gain stages. FOOOUUUURRR. Depending on what input you go in through, you can mix and blend 2 preamp sections. Go in through the low sensitivity for pedals, or going in high, turn down preamp 1 level I think.
I've not tried it with pedals really yet, I've not had much of a chance, but since it's an 800 with 4 preamp tubes, I've basically been running it flat out - funnily enough it sounds exactly like dragonaut, but also kinda like Sonic Titan.

Get out no way I don't believe it.
Clearly a sick score for the ILFDR family.

BAT is having a $69.99 Ritual sale.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
My bassist used mine for a bit. It doesn't sound good at all with active pickups. Sounded pretty good with his Jazz Bass, but he ended up running my Black Forest and then finally settling on my Pharaoh for his dirt tones. I'll have to browse through my recordings of practices to see if there is anything with him playing through it in there.D.o.S. wrote:Yeah. Sweet. For some reason I thought that the 8 knob version was a 2 channel and the 6 was a single channel. I know he's stoked to get it in and crank it. He got in on the Ritual blowout too so we'll see how well those two play together. He's running a Revelation as well so either way it's gonna get slammed with some heavy shit.CaptainBoxman wrote:conky wrote:Boxman, how does your amp take pedals? Cool cool. I don't use active basses at all, so far it all seems gravy to me.

Dude, is that like one of those Randall module dealys?[/quote]horseblanket wrote:Orange Or50/Rocker 30 with a 3 way FAC Switch. It's nerdy as all get out but I love it.
Yeah. It's a custom one from Salvation Mods.
Since I am not a gigging musician I can get by with these modular preamps.
I either use a line out to my computer or run them into a 20 (El84) or 100 watt (El34) power amp.
To me it's a good cheap way to get good classic amp tones. I also have a Marshall plexi toJCM800 module and a Hiwatt.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I liked it on bass, but it was not my favorite. In all fairness there are LOT of killer pedals up in the jam room right now. Tony is using a Wizard fuzz, a Pharaoh, and a revelation to add some thickness to either of those. Hard to beat.D.o.S. wrote:Yeah. I like things a bit smoother than the ritual is. I use it sparingly now, just as an addition to the all out uber heavy sounds.
