price seems a little on the high side.
There's a 100W AOR on my local CL for 375$ that I could probably talk down to $300 if I were so inclined/needed an amp.

I know subrosa uses 2 model t reissues. At least it looked like the reissue. All shiny and glamorous. I know that mournful uses marshalls and colosseum used the engl powerball and a mesa triple rectifier.

i've seen mournful congregation using a v4, a sovtek, and an original model t. they still sounded exactly like mournful congregation. two out of three of those are easily available for under $900. if you have 900-1000ish to spend i'd look for something besides the reissue model t for funeral doom. you can find a jcm 800 in that price range if you're patient an diligent in your quest. you can easily get a v4, though you want to make sure it's either had a cap job and some maintenance or have the money to do it in your budget. you can get a sovtek for way less, but have some money on hand for maintenance for that as well. you might run into some reliability issues. our other guitarist has one and he's had issues, although it's only left us borrowing an amp at a show one time. you can also get a much cheaper peavey vtm 120 and have money left over. but really, what i have found in my life, is that if what you really want is an old marshall and you're already so close to having the budget to easily get one, just go on and save a little more money and get one. so many times, with music gear, power tools or whatever, i have bought something that was almost what i wanted because what i wanted was a little out of reach and only ended up selling what i bought, usually for a loss, a little down the road because it wasn't cutting it and buying the actual thing anyway. it can be a real waste of money. but there are a lot of cheaper amps out there that are good for funeral doom. those newer laneys are pretty good for it. the vh100r or whatever it is. i saw asunder using those a couple of times and they've got some of the best sound in that genre.

and take what you read on the internet with a grain of salt. use your ears to figure out what sounds good. others can tell you a lot about reliability, but there's so much hype around certain amps that you need to be careful with that. the best sounding v4 i've played was one of the later master volume models. if you read on the forums and shit everyone is crazy about the earlier non master amps and will tell you that the master volume models are inferior. but an individual amp can be different and the way you use it is going to be a huge part of it.

I read an interview with mournful congregation where damon says they used marshalls and sometimes used a booster. But if any of those amps can project their heavy tone thats excellent. But I also find the model t to be so fucking sexy grimdark etc.

Look into a Laney GH100TI. The Tony Iommi sig model. Gravy from Rwake uses one and his tone owns bones.

Or maybe just the GH100, only difference pretty much is one less gain stage as I recall.

Rwake is great and all but I'm more concerned with funeral doom tones.

All I'm saying is it's a Marshallish amp that gets super heavy. And it's CHEEAAAAAAP.

I just want to get a tone like on Book of Kings.
Such a monumental song in funeral doom.
Indicative of the genre in all absoluteness.
