My friends told me off for how dusty that bastard is.Ancient Astronaught wrote:CaptainBoxman wrote:SOMEONE SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT MY NEW COOL AMP ASSHOLESIt looks great dude!!!! How's it sound?
Oh and for the love of Crom wipe down that 4x12!!!!
It sounds really cool, but there's a grounding/wiring problem somewhere in either my guitar, or in the mains due to the dimmer switch in my room.
Both Sunn and Laney hum like a bastard, and the Orville and Tele both do it. If my hand isn't on metal, then it's buzzing like a BASTARD and it's significantly less so (but still a bit) when the lights are all off.
BASTARDS.

Deafheaven started an hour and a half late last night because they got pulled over/arrested in KC on the way but they sounded awesome. And their opener was pretty sweet.

Damn dude that sounds like power in the house, didn't you used to have horrible power problems at your house a while ago? And that's what you thought fried the Orange? You need a power conditioner type power strip, more than worth the cost if your running tube amps.CaptainBoxman wrote:My friends told me off for how dusty that bastard is.

I still need/want to pick one up like yours, I enjoyed it a lot and it had a shit ton of plugs. Different house, different problem. I did have trouble with the Pharaoh being noisy, but that was a different house again....
If it is the house power, that's really annoying because the room with the dimmer is the only place I can fucking play my amps at the moment, and I'll be tolerating that shitty hum all fucking day long

I use a Furman SS-6B it doesn't have true surge protection or anything but it did greatly reduce the background noise in my amps and boards. I still get hum through the amps but at decent volume you can't hear it at all.skullservant wrote:I still need/want to pick one up like yours, I enjoyed it a lot and it had a shit ton of plugs. Any black metallers in the hizzy (I may be the first to write black metal and hizzy in one sentence, yes)? Mayhem released a new song... apparently for their first album since 2007?! God damn I am getting old.

I need one of these as well. Have been putting it off for some time stupidly. Probably even longer now that I found my dream Les Paul. Late 70s custom shop in alpine white. Holy fuck is finding $3,200 in a timely fashion going to be a fucking hassle. Considered selling my car and my girlfriend told me she would be furious with me. I was curious as to how long she would be mad to see if it would be a strain on the relationship haha

That looks sweet Cappy. that's the 50 watt? I don't know a ton about them but seem to be developing an interest in them. I think I just like the idea of having another british amplifier.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Definitely a power conditioner should be your next purchase. Dont buy the cheap ones, most of those are glorified power strips. you need one with transformers and whatnot inside. My house has old 1940's style knob and tube wiring. No grounds. Hum was an issue when I moved in. A couple fuhrmans later it's all good.CaptainBoxman wrote:Different house, different problem. Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Hmm. The guitars appear to be doing the same with a shitty battery amp. Turning the lights on and off also have the same effect as on the amps plugged into the wall.
So, some shielding problems there, but has my tech just done a shitty job of installing the humbucker?

Shit, never thought about that. They never clearly talk about who his mother was. Would be an interesting twist if he is tied to another one of the big families.Iommic Pope wrote:T: yeah the part where they go through the history of Ned and Robert and the shit before his usurpation is awesome.
It makes me wonder if Jon is a Targyrean as well...
Re the Sword: I saw them at soundwave on a half hour set a few years back and thought they were ok considering it was 40 in the shade that day and they would have just stepped put of the American winter. Friends of mine saws them in the states not long afterwards and said they just looked tired. Too much touring?
As far as The Sword. I think they are tired, and I don't blame them for it. Seems like they have realized that they are career rock musicians, which is an exhausting grind (not that I would know). It's probably really easy to get jaded doing what you dreamed about doing and realizing it's still a job and sometimes it's the same old shit day in and day out.

Isn't it quite heavily implied that he's Rhaegar and Leandra's? It's stated really early on how Arya looks EXACTLY like Leandra, whilst Catelyn whinges later on that only Jon looks like a stark out of Ned's sons.
