So, I splurged on a Belle Epoch.
In the meantime, I revisited the DL4. There are some good sounds in there. Still too big for practical purposes, so a small delay is needed. But I can use the DL4 in the jam room and at home. I like the faux Space Echo, Memory Man and Reverse settings well enough to keep it around.
School me on Delays. Boss Space Echo? DL4. Need some help.

Re: School me on Delays. Boss Space Echo? DL4. Need some hel
Congrats!
Moot point now, but I've been on a similar journey. I had a DL4, and just used the space echo, dm-2, and once in a while the dd3 settings. I ended up having to sell it, and later bought an analog delay. I recently wanted more crazy delay wash, and came close to getting an el cap, or echorec. But I ended up buying my friend's rv3.
So! for me a DOD 585-b --> Boss RV-3 gives me
-analog only
-reverb set to super hall
-both
-rv-3 set to hall + digital delay
or
-analog and digital delay on together for multiple taps
pics make everything better
