space6oy's suggestions are staples of techno/other sub-genres electronic music, excellent stuff all around :thumb: I'm seeing a lot of stuff I need to check out :joy: Good to see some industrial/EBM in here

Mick Harris/Hednod Sessions
Scorn
Quoit
Lull

I have a fuck load of Mick Harris cd's. Dark, minimal, haunting, lots of bass without making your ears bleed.............. perfect!(well, his most recent Scorn releases are a bit jarring, but the music is too damn good to give a fuck)

Don't know if its already been mentioned, but old Photek is amazing! Get Form and Function, Modus Operandi, and Risc VS Reward. Also, Source Direct is a must if you dig DnB that's similar to old Photek.

This came out in 2007. How did dubstep go from this to what it is now?

This I have wondered as well… I think it has to do with cheese appeals to the mass market or something..

2006-07 is right around when dubstep was really starting to get noticed in the US. Its also when dubstep started to get more aggresive/in your face distorted wobble bass drops. This became embraced by frat boys, bros, and hooligans around the world. It was cool for a bit, but it seemed like dubstep artists got stuck on one upping each other with the overly done insane wobbled out bass drops. Then that asshole skrilex came along and solidified bad dubstep for the mainstream market. Turned dubstep into a product and took away the underground spirit.

I feel the same about DnB. It got rediculous after a certain point. I just stick with stuff that came out before 2004ish.

BTW, that Distance album is top notcth :thumb:
