Good thing about Sweden is mad parental leave. Got two new rugrats on the way, hopefully in a month or so, so I'll be at home heaps with them the first year and a half. The bad thing is my income will get savaged in the process. But after that I reckon I might have to reward myself...
It'd be sweet to have one that's pretty much the same - colour, wood, 1 pickup, but a different model. And waiting a bit to order nr 2 will give you time to get some of these mad ideas on the go!

That’s quarter-assed at best.
Would anyone be interested in one of these at a discount?
Because these things are so goofy (meaning such odd features that aren't standard)
Maybe I should call these 5 the ILF special model? Long headstock, Dilettante body shape, gotoh fender-style bridge, 1-3/4" nut width.
What do you say ILF? $1,050 plus shipping? I want to blow these goofy creations out!
I hear ya! I'm too lazy to scroll up to see if I have already mentioned this (so stop me if you've heard this one!) but I am going to introduce another new neck-through body design. It has become quite clear that the tulip-y shapes are not appealing to the majority of people so I want to introduce another shape that will hopefully appeal to more people.
If it does well I might have to decide whether it is worth keeping the Coquette and/or Socialite in the lineup.
While having lots and lots of different models is a nice idea I'm not sure how practical it is. If I can streamline things and focus on models that more people are excited about then that would make the most sense.
But no decisions are being made anytime soon as to keeping or dropping any models.
Hold the phone! I was chatting with one of my dealers and he said he'd be interested in my taking one or two of these 12-strings and turning them into 8-String Mandocellos!
This might get very interesting!!!!

Oh, dude, it's very interesting.
Is this Lark Street?
I wish I had some scratch. I'd love a Nelson Instruments Mandocello.

I'm not going to lie, I'm not entirely sure what an 8 string mandocello is exactly, but I kind of want one.
I also still really want a Nelson 12 string, but I just can't justify the money on one now. Stupid wedding and honeymoon plans making me be all financially responsible.
The interesting factoid about the cello is that it plays within the range of the human voice.
I've always enjoyed the richness of a mandocello.
I will need to draft a simple bridge/tailpiece system that my machinist can make a few of to make this a reality!
bigchiefbc wrote:Yeah a mandocello is exactly what it sounds like, it's the cello of the mandolin family. It's basically a bigger mandolin, tuned like a cello.
Shit, that looks hard as like, hard stuff, to play. It's like I'd have to go all 80s and watch Paul Gilbert string skipping arpeggio videos for a month straight just to be able to hop back and forth between the top two strings...
