AxAxSxS wrote:Or (ohmyfuckingoddoomblasphemy). Keep it. Strats are kickass guitars. I blame clapton for becoming the most booring, bland, non threatening guitar icon ever for ruining the cool factor of strats. When strats get brought up the first thing forum guitarists think of is "blues lawyer". Not hendrix?!! Wtf. How did we allow what is damn near a perfect guitar design to be taken over by bland ass souless turds who can't write a decent riff if satan was sucking their dick.
Seriously, balance is perfect, trem can be used or not, set to float, or lay flat for better tuning stability, don't like singles? Swimming pool route that shit and put whatever in there. The only flaw in my mind is the pickguard should be a two piece deal like a jazz bass to make messing with the pots and all less of a thing. Great fucking guitars.
This is my first strat ever. I've had the jones for a while, and im glad i found this guy instead of a wack ass mim fender. I've got no immediate plans to trade it. Sounds great, has a fat ass neck, and after I set it up plays like a motherfucker.

Those Tom Delonge strats are dope. I want a surf green one.

Ancient Astronaught wrote: Nice on the mixing dude!!!! Here's another lil secret tip / trick. If you want the snare to have a lil more body and pop out a lil duplicate the track and put distortion on it, like maxxed out old school DOD pedal distortion with an EQ bump around 4-500, scooped around a thousand, hpf at like 250hz and lpf at probably 1500-2000 (the LPF varies depending on how the snare sits in the mix, id move it around till it sounds right), and then mix it in under the regular snare track like you did the super compressed mix buss. :thumb:

You gotta anything to post yet?
Just the soundcloud clip I posted up. Here it is in case you missed it.

Gonna record guitars today I get to try this NAD out.

Image

I played with it for about 15 minutes and so far it sounds pretty good but I thought it would be a lot louder for a 140 watt amp. I had it on around 7 and it seemed pretty tame. I bumped it up to halfway between 7 and 8 and HOLY FUCKING VOLUME JUMP. This thing is pretty damn loud. I didn't like the clean channel so much with the stock JJs in it so I put a 12ay7 in v1 it sounds 10 times better. Takes pedals a lot better now. Got a 12au7 coming so I'm gonna see how that is in there too. Channel 2 is pretty nice. Lower gain tones sounded like the beginning of "Blood and Thunder" so I got stuck playing that song for a minute. Rolling up the gain on it and it sounded like shit off of Remission for sure. Pretty Marshally sounding so I don't miss my 2204 as much now.

AxAxSxS, that rig pic makes me all tingly inside. I want to stand in front of it while you drone on the lowest note you can for a minute.
