I loved my Ampeg 8x10 when I played bass in a crust band. We tuned to B and I slammed it with a Russian Muff, Pharaoh, and Rat and it always held up and put out plenty of low end. That said, I'm sure a 2x15 and 4x10 cab would rule pretty hard too.

i thought 10's don't do well on low end...I'm talking about guitar not bass though...

I've never played guitar through 10s so I'm not sure how they hold up. 8x10s on bass sounds huge though.

Just plugged straight in to my OR-15 and man that's the sound I want. I'm going to stop trying to make the pedals fit the amp and just let it do its thing. Looks like I'll have a lot of fuzz for sale. Still holding on to a few for my eventual bass board (when I have the funds for a bass rig).

I just wanted to thicken up the bass/lo mids a little bit, thinking Pharaoh might do a good job? I'm just looking for a fuzz to use a slight bass boost and maybe add a little extra character.

Pharaoh will work, but a Revelation Superbass excels at this.

Skip, I finally got around to messing around with the drum tracks today. I eq'd the main mics and added some compression and reverb to both the main mic and the room recording from the Zoom. Blended them together and I think they came out nicely. I need to take a little bit of the decay off of the snare's reverb though. The clean guitars are gonna get rerecorded. I don't like the clean tone, but I was just messing around with my effects to see what I liked.

Ok I was looking at the Superbass too and couldn't tell if the Pharaoh or Superbass would be better. I'll be on the lookout for one.

i've also got a pair of cream humbuckers that i have set aside for them.

I've had my eye on the black/gold one. They are both 220s so should be exactly the same other than color.

I got an AR320 with the vintage burst. I know what you mean, that's a good-looking guitar. It might be worth trying to hunt down a used AR220 and upgrading the pickups. I still prefer the sound of the Duncan Distortion in my LP, just for stock pickups on a cheap guitar the Ibanez pups are very good.

Right on. Makes me feel less wary of the lower models pickups. If the 320 and up had awesome sounding pickups, I would probably rethink the black one.

When I had my Dark Terror I eventually stopped running pedals into it at all. Just sounded better without them.

Having said that, yeah, a Pharaoh would probably be a good choice for what you were looking for.

If finding a matching flatback 810 to mine was easy, I would rock my SVT through both of them. But I'm running out of patience here. So I have to decide on what the fuck cab(s) I want. Ideally, I would love to stay within a single "stack" (ie one big cab or two small cabs to stack above each other). I would love to stack two 4x12's if i had some made like your standard orange 410's.

The bass player from Monobrow did the dual 4x12's for bass and it turned out great IMO.

I thought he had dual 2x15's and an 810? Pics, link, or specs?

I wish I knew anything about the hardware end of computers. I record on Logic, which exclusive to Macs, but I would really like to be able to have a rack mounted computer just for recording. All I need is a fast processor, lots of RAM, USB and Firewire connections. No crazy sound or video cards really needed (audio runs outboard from the interface). I prefer Logic to Pro Tools because it's all native, but that's also the drawback, really uses up a lot of processing power and RAM doing very dense mixes. Especially if I'm going back to do overdubs after I've already started using a lot of plugins. I know people do the "hackintosh" thing, but I know zip about all that stuff.

Does anyone run a Pharaoh> Demon King? If so how is it? I've decided to revisit the Pharaoh again and I'm just about some experiences with that combo.

On another note I run a 810/215 with folded horn and I like that combo. I'd like to get one more of each. I probably won't attempt that for a while though.

Yeah, right now I run an 810 and 215 through the SVT and it sounds excellent, but the 215 is overpowering.

Thinking of beefing up my far side guitar rig. Currently only playing a 212 (4 ohms / 16 ohms). Thinking between adding another 2x12, 4x12, a 4x10, or a 1x15. Trying to add a hair of thickness and low mids. Thoughts? This would be for my Sound City 100 which I run a Rat Tail and Bluebeard in front of. Anyone playing either of the last two combinations I mention?

Ok, my brain hurts...

I know one of us played a gig at the 5th Dimension in Tacoma a while back. I can't fucking remember who it was. Anyways, we're playing there on the 21st with Thrones and Hot Victory, I want to know how much room we'll have to set up in. If I bring 3 amps it's kind of a large footprint. I can get away with 2 amps and 2 cabs in a small space. I'd like to work out what I'm bringing ahead of time and get it set up for that.

My brain sucks...
