Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
If finding a matching flatback 810 to mine was easy, I would rock my SVT through both of them. But I'm running out of patience here. So I have to decide on what the fuck cab(s) I want. Ideally, I would love to stay within a single "stack" (ie one big cab or two small cabs to stack above each other). I would love to stack two 4x12's if i had some made like your standard orange 410's.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Tony is using the 400 into 8x10 and the concert bass into a 2x15 sounds great, very full punchy and no flub. Of course thats two amps so there is no power issues. I agree with those who say 2x 8x10's might be better with more power.chillerthanmost wrote:Ancient Astronaught wrote:Soooooo.... Bass players...... I say 810. Even power distribution between the speakers (impedance) will make for a more consistant sound all around. If you're playing one amp, I say feed it to the same speakers. If you want to cross speaker sizes then you'll have to look into different impedance to get equal power distribution. Bass cabs are lame. I'm currently (still) looking for the right cab set up as well, for my SVT.

I've been wanting to pick up a 100 watt one to go with my 50 watt, but they've been harder for me to find AND the prices have been climbing lately. What'd you pay for yours, if you don't mind me asking?CaptainBoxman wrote:Just ordered a Laney 50 watt AOR. Looking forward to that shit.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
What up, Doom Room? Finally finished designing my new PC build. It'll be a high-spec gaming and multimedia desktop. I've had to invest in it now rather than later since my current PC is regularly shitting itself. Many gear plans have had to be put on hold as a result.

The bass player from Monobrow did the dual 4x12's for bass and it turned out great IMO.chillerthanmost wrote:If finding a matching flatback 810 to mine was easy, I would rock my SVT through both of them. Yeah I think your right, luckily it turns out I know the guy selling both cabs and he'll let me atleast try it to see how loud it gets.chillerthanmost wrote:Tony is using the 400 into 8x10 and the concert bass into a 2x15 sounds great, very full punchy and no flub. They're worth it, trust me. Do you plan on using it for recording as well?AngryGoldfish wrote:What up, Doom Room? Finally finished designing my new PC build. Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Yeah, parts are expensive here. I had a budget of €1200, but due to unforeseen complications with currency conversion and shipping rates, the build ended up costing €1300. It should last at least two years, and it has room for upgrades. The CPU can be overclocked to around 4.0 - 4.2Ghz with the Cooler Master 212, but if I wanted to knock it up to 4.6Ghz then I'd need to invest in something better. I'd probably stick to fans due to case restrictions with 240mm radiators.new05002 wrote:not bad, you guys end up paying a lot more for PC parts tho. I also purposefully bought an extremely high quality PSU so that I could, if I wanted to and could afford it, run a second GTX 770 in SLI configuration and almost double my power. When I have the money again hopefully they'll be available to buy at reasonable prices.
Definitely. It should handle most editing tasks apart from extremely intensive video and photography, and 3D rendering.Wes Mantooth wrote:They're worth it, trust me. It's mostly for gaming but it'll be fine for everything else I do as well.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Yea I built my own about 3-4 years ago with enough redundancy to handle what I do but cost me like $750 with lots of specs. I run 12 gb of RAM right now and the PSU is 1kW.
I only really stress it for video rendering and recording.

If you're not gaming then you can save a bunch of money whilst still getting a killer PC for everything else that you might do.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
i have a moderate video card since gaming is not super relevant to me on a PC. I casually will play SC2 or Diablo 3 every now and then
