rechargeable power for forest fuzz camping

Post by jellyfishfuzz »

So I was wondering about an easy way of playing away from electric plugs. I go camping a lot and music festivals volunteering and stuff. Of course I've used the microcube lot but tired of all the batteries. Also I wanted to power some digital effects. So what I'm looking at is either the eneloop pedal juice which is dc and so is the microcube. Would that thing power both my pedals and the microcube? Also there's the pedal jeanie rechargeable pedal board which isn't much more than the eneloop.

man i love me some battery power
unfortunately most of the batteries i've found that do DC are center positive tho. but they do selectable voltages
oh and usb, which is super handy for like a million things these days. they are usually marketed as usb/laptop batteries.

awesome for portable synths and beat machines, less awesome for pedals. i suppose there might be a way to switch the polarity of the cable or create like a 1 spot styled adapter that is center neg? i mean u can do it the opposite way w/ a 1spot, so its possible yea?

w/ center pos. u can power stuff like elektron devices, sonic potions lxr, kaossilators & kaoss pads, micro/minibrute, prob a ton more. there are some fx boxes that are center positive right?

i also have the eneloop mobile power booster (2 usb ports) and it lasts a SUPER LONG time on a single charge.
also, a handy tip in general, unless you absolutely have to have the maximum juice that is currently available, the previous generation of the same model battery often sells for much much less.

The pedal jeanie people said that it will power a micro cube and 8 pedals.

This looks pretty nifty at $200. If I understand correctly I could use it to run my amp for over two hours.

They have one a little bigger than this that'd probably run my amp and pedals for four or five hours, but I'd never pay $500 for one.

It totally does not address your needs but the ZT Lunchbox Jr. has a power out line that you can use for a couple of effects. They also sell a battery pack for it so you can run amp + effects off some double As. It's good for a couple of hours.
