Be aware the Scrambler can get very, very loud at some settings, and the stock circuit doesn't have a level control.
I love my clone anyway, I went through several before finding the meanest of the mean. It does not do subtle much, but well, it's a Scrambler.

Re: what are they based on?
minor update: based on this thread, and what'd i've found on the cheaper side of things, I picked up a used Prescription Experience cheaply locally and a Mini in a trade on here.
The Experience is pretty much a Tone Machine clone with a "swell" feature to simulate reverse playback. I didn't expect to pick it up. I went into a shop to try out a Fuzz Stang, and this caught my ear. It's nasty and sounds insanely huge going into the TAFM…so fucking huge and awesome and harmonic. The Fuzz and Octave are rad, and the Swell is a bonus that I literally lost my entire evening to last night. Who ever pointed me towards the octave fuzz, I need to buy you a beer if we ever meet in real life…
I traded some gear for a Mini on BST here. It's it's own flavor of awesome. I need to sit with it more and get a fuller handle with it. I was able to dial it in on high gain with the bias to be pretty spitty and then back off the bias and just land someplace huge and wooly.
I now need to stop buying shit, and just play them so I can integrate them into what I am working on.
I think the addiction never ends, though...I have a birthday in a month. Still tempted to pick up an Elements with the Birthday discount if Ryan is still doing that.
I am also waiting patiently [and setting some $$$ aside] for a LaoWiz build…and…and…and I want..and……….

A lot of the walrus stuff looks to be clones with a few changes. Jupiter looks like a muff with a switch to change the clipping diodes and a switch to change a capacitor for more bass. The iron horse is a rat. The voyager is a klon. I'm not sure what the mayflower.
