thanks guys, and Skip, I'm pretty sure the rest of the world agrees with you on that, which is why I'm having to build it myself.

nope, early VT40's wont' work....but...it's an early one! :thumb: IIRC, they only did those for 2 years :thumb:

That single 15" might be kinda cool...that said, you won't move as much air, or get the same "i think i lost my headache" tone / "can you hear me knocking" tone as you will from the 10"s

I had a '72 Vt40 for many years, and loved it...it didn't play well with all stomp boxes, however.

Oh damn, thanks for the clarification. I'm not willing to invest another $300 to get what I want out of it so I'll have to keep looking.

Some pedals i loved with it - OD's and Distortions worked alright, think heavy mids - but my favorite variants - Big Muffs and Fuzz Faces - would just get lost with that amp - mosquito tone.

The vt40's and vt22's don't have a ton of clean headroom - but they DO have that certain tone. Personally I'd go for a V4 now a days.

so i had 2 days off work…was hanging out at the bass players house…we finished today by recording 5 songs…a little sketchy, but pretty much definitive versions.

we now just need a drummer who can play outside of 4/4 and doesn't speed up through a song!

Just bought my ticket for SLEEP in Santa Cruz, which is only around 35 minutes away from me. Expensive, but at least it's local. Can't wait.

I'd be into hearing that, any links where we could listen?

And there are definitely some people lurking here or elsewhere.
